Where Ideas Can Hang Out...And Do Whatever!

I’m only 1/3rd through Dan Charnas’ excellent book “The Big Payback” (about the history of the hip-hop industry), and I was inspired to make a playlist of important tracks from the early days of rap music. This playlist spans from `78 to `88 and is roughly in chronological order. I’ll add more as I read more. Enjoy!

I made a Spotify playlist of my favorite tunes from 1962- a full half-century ago! There are familiar tunes on here that you probably haven’t thought about in years, as well as some wild blues tunes you’ve probably never heard. And it’s chock-full of girl pop and balls-out soul ballads.
